Thank you COVID for giving us all sorts of time for projects .... no but really - THANK YOU! We have these awful things in our yard called GoatHeads! They are THE WORST! I've never seen so many until we moved to Utah. Well ..... Ryan stepped on one last summer and his foot got infected! So needless to say he is a little paranoid about them now. A few weeks ago he stepped on ANOTHER ONE! He decided he couldn't take it any longer - we were going to finish our flowerbeds and pray that stopped those awful things from haunting us (I secretly doubt it but hey, we get to plant so I'm all game to at least try!).

So the next day we headed to the nursery and my heart couldn't be happier (I LOVE that place)! After hours (and I mean hours) we drove away with dirt, plants and some TREES!!! Picking out plants and trees are my favorite - digging the holes not so much. Did I mention we live on a mountain? Did you know mountains are FULL of rocks (and not just one rock but rocks after rocks after rocks and then when you think there aren't anymore rocks, you run into a boulder!). It's the worst - so that's when I hand the project over to Ryan and beg him to dig the holes - 34 holes you guys! 34 HOLES! Thankfully we live next to family and thankfully they helped.

We have about a million flowerbeds so we didn't get to all of them but the ones we did get to are winning my heart over. Now to wait for our baby plants to grow!

We love the zoo and learning about different animals! With COVID everything is closed .... well almost! Tuesday we explored a Drive Through Farm! How cute is that?! It was honestly perfect. I mean I love zoos, but driving through a Farm was PERFECT! We were able to roll our windows down and drive right up to the animals. Then they even had a cute recording we could pull up on our phone to learn more about the animals. How perfect is that?! Kids LOVED it and I just LOVED being out of the house!

It was Lexi's birthday on Easter! We've never had a birthday that shares a holiday and let me tell you - it's hard work! We tried so hard to celebrate Easter and the importance with that holiday all while trying to keep it all about Lexi .... it wore this mama out! Lexi LOVES birthdays even more then I do (and that's a lot!). She had it all planned for 2 weeks, and you better believe we did it all! Per her request: make Easter sugar cookies, decorate the Easter Cookies, make a 3 layer cake, go on an Easter egg hunt, have breakfast for dinner (my kind of girl!), open presents, have grandma and grandpa over for cake, play with toys from gifts! It makes me tired typing it all out.

Oh and let's not forget what I tried to squeeze in - some more family adoption pictures & a video!!! I mean why not right, we were all dressed (and when I say 'we' I mean I did my hair and make-up which doesn't happen much these days)!

I'm sure Ryan loved me by the time pictures and our video was done, butttt they are done! Overall it was one tiring but exciting day. It was so fun to see all the excitement Lexi had all day long. And in her words 'it was the best day ever! except for the fact that COVID was around' Love that girl!
